While brushing my teeth this morning
I glanced into the mirror,
and there I saw the dreaded stripe!
I blinked to see it clearer.
That stripe of gray upon my head,
adjacent to the scalp.
I'd better call the Red Salon.
I must have Nathan's help!
Nathan is a magician.
I need to keep him near.
His best trick is the one that
makes the stripe disappear.
Another trick that’s up his sleeve
is taking frizz away.
Nathan, please move in with me
and do my hair every day!
Being away from home for three weeks is a long time. Upon returning, there is the process of re-acclimation: adjusting your body clock from a time change, doing the laundry, reading all of your mail, catching up with friends. And then there is that other inevitable marker of time away...the dreaded stripe!
Have any ideas or tricks to deal with 'the stripe'? Any funny stories related to it?
My first illustrated collection of poems is available for purchase.
