I have to make a call today
to get phone service back.
I paid my bill,
I know I did.
I paid it! That’s a fact!
I have to use my mobile phone
to dial the company.
You know the one I’m talking about:
A T & T.
For “Balance” push the number one,
For “Sales and Upgrades”, two.
For “Billing” push the number three.
Four gets a new phone for you.
And now we’re on to number five.
It is the “Voicemail Helpline”.
Six will get you “Tech Support”.
(I think that it goes up to nine).
The most amazing fact of all,
The most incredible thing:
an hour has passed and I have not
spoken to a human being!
I stay on for an eternity.
At last get redirected.
I’m so excited, I’m almost there!
It was one of those days. We lost phone service and even though we mostly rely on our cell phones, it disrupted other services in the house and we really needed it to be restored. Thus began the odyssey.
