I gotta make a Costco run.
This isn't my idea of fun.
We're nearly out of toilet paper.
I borrowed Splenda from my neighbor.
I grab a cart, I show my card,
I start to shop, aisle by aisle.
I should focus, but these jeans!
They are so cute....just my style.
Then the snacks: the cheese, the cookies,
the nuts, the candy, the giveaways.
Why did I eat before I came?
(not hungry, but will eat anyways).
Now back at home, where will I put
all of this excessive stuff?
Why did I buy five dozen apples?
A few of them would be enough.
I guess I'll make some apple pie.
Now really, who am I kidding?
I shouldn't make another Costco run
'til a year from this Thanksgiving.
My pantry is so empty, I cannot avoid it anymore: the overwhelming Costco run. Have I learned anything from my past experiences, or will I make all of the same mistakes again?
Anyone have a Costco experience to share?
My first illustrated collection of poems is available for purchase.
