I thought I was the only one
with this secret T.V. addiction;
I could watch it all day, re-runs and all,
with a few forays into the kitchen.
It's time I come out of the closet,
You mustn't make fun of me.
Okay, I'll admit it, my guilty pleasure
is marathon HGTV.
The Property Brothers are really good-looking.
The rehab addict is cute.
"Love it or List It" is so fun to watch.
If a friend calls, I put it on mute.
I can't change the channel....
I really just can't.
Extreme Homes is coming on soon.
"House Hunters" is next 'cause
I am pretty sure that it is
scheduled for noon.
And you'll never guess what I just found out:
My friends are all watching too!
Tons of them are addicted as well...
perhaps the next addict is you.
I can't even explain the appeal. Yes, I like decorating. However, I have never completely renovated a house, nor do I plan to do so. Why am I so mesmerized by open-floor plans and stainless steel appliances?
Who can identify with me? Any other secret T.V. addictions?
I intended to write a humorous poem about Mother's Day: something about "thank god we have one day set aside to show appreciation and cater to the moms, because every other day of the year is "Children's Day". But, surprisingly even to myself, the first poem appeared on my page. But as an afterthought, the second poem fulfills my humor quotient.
How do you feel about Mother's Day? Any identification with the musing, particularly the 'worry connection' piece?
My first illustrated collection of poems is available for purchase.
